Stoners, Rise Up!
Well I'm gonna be honest with you, friend. Me and my buddy Randy tried to drive out to Terre Haute to to score some reefer, then get back down to Muncie in time for Mark Booner's house party in time for me to see my girlfriend Patty Holborne before she moved to Tampa, but the thing is, Randy almost hit a possum on the way back to town, and flipped his Firebird out on I-70. Well we had no recourse but to sit and roll a doobie and wait for Little Jeffy Spoonworth and his brother Mike to winch us out of the old ditch we were in.
Well Randy and I sat up on the smoking wreckage of that car and we smoked and talked about the first time we listened to Journey, and heck if we didn't get to shootin the breeze about God, and the nature of the soul, and whether pigs could talk if they had better mouths. By the time the Spoonworth boys got out there and pulled Randy's 'bird out of that ditch, we were well and truly stoned to high heaven. Those guys even dropped us off at Booner's party just as things were winding down, and I got to sit and talk with Patty a while about the paths we had been walking together and where we hoped our lives might take us next. We smoked the rest of that good Terre Haute mary jane, and by the time the sun came up, me and Patty decided we were going to try to make it work. We don't talk much now, but I'll always remember that was the best night of my life. I won't lie to you. This leaf costume might not get you as high as that memory gets me, but I hope you can take it on a special night of your own. I really mean that.
